Kim Gubser sets new world record at the Swatch Nines

A week of non-stop skiing and snowboarding action at the Swatch Nines on the Schilthorn ended with a new world record.
Kim Gubser jumped 14.6 meters on the "Perfect Hip 2.0" on Friday morning.

"The Swatch Nines are something special because you never see features like this in the World Cup or in normal snow parks. It's a completely different experience. Everything is much bigger and very aesthetic. There's also no pressure to compete. It's just a week of fun, hanging out with friends and filming." - Kim Gubser

On Friday morning, the conditions were perfect; "I first tried it with less speed and then went faster and faster," said Gubser. Kim's jump is very high. It is 14.6 meters and thus the world record for the highest jump.

"We wanted to know where the limit was and we found it. That was my limit anyway."

About the Swatch Nines
The Swatch Nines were founded in 2008 as a friendly alternative to traditional competitions. The event series offers action sports athletes a unique playground where they can develop their skills as safely as possible without the pressure of competition and work with a dedicated team of filmers and photographers to capture unforgettable moments. The Swatch Nines, traditionally held in winter for skiers and snowboarders and in summer for mountain bikers, will be complemented by a new edition for surfers in fall 2024.
